Our Vision

A safe and just world for all; free of sexual and domestic abuse.

Community History

WRC’s role within the community is twofold: to provide direct services to adults and children who are survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and/or human trafficking and to act as a social change agent by increasing community awareness about the challenges of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking so that we may ultimately reduce their incidence.

Survivor Testimonials

With the support of the WRC and the Justice Center, I found the strength to reclaim my life. They helped me through my divorce, get a PFA, and protected me and my children. They helped us have a new beginning. I didn’t have money for an attorney. I am so grateful they were there.

Our freedoms are vanishing. If you do not get active to take a stand now against all that is wrong while we still can, then maybe one of your children may elect to do so in the future, when it will be far more riskier — and much, much harder.

When I was raped one of the counselors met me at the hospital in the middle of the night. They were to support me. I continued with free counseling at WRC and finally feel like I am able to heal.

I don’t think I would be alive today if WRC wasn’t there when I needed to escape.

The staff was always were there to support me when I was completely overwhelmed at the idea of leaving my husband. He had all the money and I didn’t know how me and my children could afford an apartment. They paid my rent for over a year, while I found a good job and was able to get on my feet.

I never felt judged for staying with my abuser for as long as I did. When I went back to him, and then came back to WRC, they were there. There is a lot of comfort in that.

I had nothing when I came into their office. They gave me everything from a place to live to shampoo that I couldn’t afford at that time. Anything I needed they were there.
