WRC has an opening for an Economic & Housing Advocate (EHA). The primary function and duties are to provide case management, crisis intervention, and empowerment counseling to WRC Safe Housing Program participants, including emergency safe housing, Transitional Housing and Rapid Rehousing; and to advocate for program participants within the housing and welfare systems, economic and career focused institutions and other related areas. The EHA will assist program participants in navigating systems, and conduct advocacy with various systems to ensure response to the needs of survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking and/or trafficking. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field, or a combination of four years education and experience and skill in working with victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. The Barbara J. Hart Justice Center, a Project of the WRC has an immediate need for a Staff Attorney preferably Spanish speaking but not required. The qualified attorney will represent survivors of domestic and sexual violence in family law, immigration, housing, and consumer debt matters in Lackawanna and Susquehanna Counties, Pennsylvania. Candidates must be licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates must also be self-starters with the ability to work individually and in teams. The Justice Center provides a great and challenging opportunity for attorneys to develop litigation skills and expertise in the field of domestic and sexual violence and family law. WRC (The Women’s Resource Center) has an opening for a Counselor Advocate. The primary function and duties are to provide crisis intervention, individual and group, empowerment counseling and case management for survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The Counselor Advocate will answer the agency hotline and respond to crisis situations including accompaniment to hospitals, police stations, and court. Counselor Advocates will assist program participants in navigating systems, and conduct advocacy with various systems to ensure response to the needs of survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking and/or trafficking. Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field, or a combination of four years education and experience and skill in working with victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.
