Our Medical Advocacy Program provides training at no cost to health care providers and covers a variety of topics related to domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking. Presentations are customizable to your needs and can be offered in person or virtually.

Our Medical Advocacy Task Forces consist of a task force for Lackawanna County and one for Susquehanna County. Each bring together medical professionals from across disciplines in their individual county to meet quarterly over Zoom to discuss ongoing trends, configure solutions, build community, and engage experts.

Every other autumn our Medical Advocacy Program works with Victim’s Intervention Program to offer a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Training for nurses in Lackawanna, Susquehanna, Pike & Wayne Counties. Our team is working to prevent dating and sexual violence in our community. Our evidence based, multi-session, age appropriate programs are interactive, student- and teacher-centered experiences.
The goals of the program are to promote healthy relationships by:
WRC’s Youth Empowerment Program won the National 2023 Purple Ribbon Award for Outstanding Youth Program.
Trained WRC staff provide all programs at no cost to the school. By using a mixture of information sharing, discussion and activities, these programs aim to improve student knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors regarding healthy relationships. Confidentiality, respect, and other student developed ground-rules are determined so that students feel safe and comfortable in the class.

Through 6, 8, or 10 lessons, this evidence-based dating abuse prevention curriculum covers a wide range of topics related to healthy relationships including causes of dating violence, how to help a friend in an abusive relationship, positive communication, and conflict resolution. This program has been shown to be effective in reducing dating violence victimization and perpetration across various demographics in grades 7-12.

This seven lesson curriculum promotes healthy, safe relationships including friends, peers and dating relationships. Topics include communication techniques, boundaries, identifying feelings, and how to help friends.

Using the We Care Elementary Program, this curriculum includes six lessons at each grade level. Each grade level focuses on different topics related to healthy relationships including identifying emotions, communication and setting and respecting boundaries.
