Identifying Abuse

Recognizing abuse can be challenging because it often starts subtly and escalates over time. Abuse can take many forms, including physical, emotional, sexual, and financial. Here are some common signs:

  • Physical Injuries: Unexplained bruises, cuts, or injuries.
  • Isolation: Being cut off from friends, family, or support systems.
  • Control: Monitoring activities, finances, or dictating what someone wears.
  • Fear and Anxiety: Constantly fearful or anxious about upsetting their partner.

Help Someone

If you know someone who may be in an abusive relationship, you can call the WRC help line to talk about your concerns. Our knowledgeable counselors are available to talk to you 24/7. All calls are kept confidential.

No. All of WRC’s services are offered at no cost to survivors and their non-offending significant others.

WRC provides comprehensive support services for individuals experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, stalking, and human trafficking. Our services include crisis intervention, safe housing, legal advocacy, counseling, and prevention education. All services are confidential and available 24/7 to ensure safety and support for survivors.
